Where does vaginal discharge come from?

Vaginal discharge leaks from directly inside the vagina. The fluid is made from glands which are located in the vagina to remove dead cells and unwanted bacteria. This occurs to keep your reproductive system clean and infection free.

What is normal?

Normal vaginal discharge is usually a thick, sticky consistency and which is clear or cloudy white in colouring. It can sometimes have a slight smell, which is completely normal.

How to stay clean.

As your body is cleansing itself internally, it is important to stay hygienic externally. Each time you urinate, it important to always gently wipe afterwards. When you shower you must make sure you thoroughly clean your vagina with a vaginal safe intimate wash.

What is not normal?

Vaginal discharge which is a chunky consistency

and an abnormal smell which usually appears as 

a yellow, grey, brown or green colouring. Itching

sensation and discomfort may also be present.

What should you do if discharge appears

abnormal?

It is very important you create an appointment to

consult with your general practitioner, as there it

may a symptom of a possible bacterial infection.

• Trichomonas

• Gonorrhea

• Chlamydia

• Vaginal Yeast Infection
