Is Vaginal Discharge Normal?

Yes ladies, this is completely normal. I questioned this myself for years. I use to think there was something wrong with me, but a few months ago I finally found the answer to my question.
Normal discharge tends to be thick, sticky and either transparent or a cloudy white colour. It is normal for discharge to be a little smelly as well. Sometimes it can stain your beautifully white underwear, but using products such as "vanish" should make them look like new. Discharge can also sometimes dampen your underwear quite a bit, which this is also completely normal and happens to everyone occasionally. This is also why it is important to wipe after urinating.
As a women who does get discharge, it's important to always stay hygienic. It is recommended to always use a liquid intimate wash, rather than scented soaps or body wash. Using scented products to wash the vagina will interrupt your natural balance of bacteria and pH levels, which can cause irritation or infection. You can purchase intimate wash from most chemists and grocery stores.

Always keep in mind that your vagina is sensitive. While washing your vagina, I recommend using your hand rather than a cloth as it is a lot more gentle; making sure to clean both your front and behind. With warm water, make sure to rinse away all soap after use.
Now that we have spoken about normal discharge and staying clean. What is abnormal discharge? Chunky consistency, feeling itchy, abnormal smell and colouring such as yellow, brown or green may be a symptom of infection, which is very important you talk to your GP about immediately. I cannot give advice on this as I am not a qualified doctor.
For the ladies who were worrying if having discharge is normal or not, please remember you are not alone. All women have discharge. It is completely natural. There is nothing wrong with you lovely.
