Relationships and STDs

Updated: Jul 9, 2019

STDs (Also known as Sexually transmitted diseases) have been given a bad name when it comes to finding a new partner. Unfortunately, a number of people who do carry an STD themselves think it is okay to hide the truth. Because of this, catching an STD tends to happen to the most genuine people. It is fairly common as well.

Most people assume if you do catch an STD by mistake, that means you will find it harder to find the person you plan on spending your life with, as they are worried people will run if they are aware of it. But the truth is, if you are open about your situation with the person you plan on sleeping with, genuine people will not run. Genuine people are understanding about these things. Hiding the truth from your current partner about your situation is not the right thing, and they are more likely to break up with you due to lack of trust. If you are diagnosed with an STD by your general practitioner, this does not make you a bad person. It is still possible for someone who has only had sex with one person in their life to have an STD. Catching an STD can happen to anyone.

If you have been diagnosed with an STD and are anxious if you will find the right partner for you. I can promise you that you will find that person. If someone leaves due to you telling them about your STD, this means they weren't the right person for you.
